Letter from the Head
|Welcome to Springfield School. Based in Witney, West Oxfordshire, we are a Special Needs School educating children and young people with severe and profound learning difficulties, between the ages of 3 and 16 years. We are pleased to be part of the Gallery Trust, a Multi Academy Trust dedicated to providing outstanding education and support for young people with special needs and disabilities.
Our purpose is to educate, equip and enthuse every child within our school to achieve. As a result, we offer a flexible approach to learning, respecting the individuality of each child
|We strongly believe in the benefits of integration and inclusion to all and as such our Early Years and Primary classes are co-located with Madley Brook Community Primary School in a uniquely integrated and purpose built site. Our secondary pupils are also located in a purpose built building on the Wood Green Secondary School site. We work hard to promote inclusive activities with our partner schools and the wider community.
We believe in creating opportunities for both pupils and staff to succeed in their own goals. It is essential for us to work closely with parents, carers and other professionals to promote support for everyone and sharing of good practice.
I hope you enjoy looking at our website and particularly seeing what our pupils achieve.
Emma Lawley has been Head Teacher since 2009 and worked at Springfield since 1994. Emma finishes at Springfield in August 2023 and warmly welcomes Kate Campbell as the new Head Teacher from 1st September 2023.
