Duke of Edinburgh Awards Team successfully complete their expedition

Over the weekend of 13th and 14th May nine pupils embarked on a two day Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme expedition, canoeing from Newbridge to Eynsham!

It was a brilliant weekend and for a number of pupils their first time canoeing and camping. The weather was relatively kind to us, the days were dry and quite sunny but Saturday night was very wet! The pupils braved the pouring rain and their well pitched tents kept them dry and warm.

As well as working on their canoeing and setting up camp skills the team also looked for and studied the wildlife to be found along the river.

For five of the pupils this was their first expedition and for the other four this was their final, qualifying expedition. We hope they will all complete their bronze award by the end of the year.

Well done to the whole team who worked really hard and should feel very proud of their achievements!
